Setting the Friendsgiving Table

With THANKSgiving next week, FRIENDSgiving season is almost over. So, I’m squeezing mine in on the last possible weekend before Thanksgiving. I’m doing as much hand lettering as I can to make it as pintresting as possible. (I may have just made up that word.)

I’m excited to set the table for my closest friends, but first, let’s discuss food!

I planned a potluck so everyone can contribute something special (or something from a box… I’m not here to judge.) I’ll have these recipe cards (30% off right now) on hand for those bringing a dish from a family recipe that might like to share how they made it.

My tablescape brainstorming session quickly became a fun group project with the Tumbalina art director and junior graphic designer. Here is what we came up with:

We started with oak leaf table accents from Hester and Cook. We added hand-lettered guest’s names on the faux leaves for a custom feel and bit of personality. Unused leaves were then scattered around the table.

Our next layer was a wood slice paper placemat (also from Hester and Cook) placed on top of the scattered leaves.

We then positioned our “I am grateful for…” free printable download on top of that. As everyone finds their seats at the table they can start thinking about and filling out what they are grateful for.

I can’t wait to see my closest friends in one place before we all head our separate ways for the official holiday!

P.S. we’ll share some photos from the actual dinner on our Instagram early next week.
